SECURITY GUARD JOB GOAL: Under general direction monitors the conditions on campus and takes action to handle inappropriate or endangering situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reports vandalism and other improper or illegal acts. Monitors and observes actions around school buildings. Checks and warns unauthorized individuals on school grounds of inappropriate behaviors. Provides information and assistance to law enforcement officers and district superintendent. May use a video camera and tape various activities. Performs related duties as assigned.

Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with school district and law enforcement. Read, interpret and follow rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Read and write at a level for successful job performance. Maintain files and records and retrieve information.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Individuals possessing the knowledge and ability listed above are considered to possess the required education.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid drivers license and any certifications required for school security personnel.
