ALL 2021-2022 SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED for COVID-19. NO EXCEPTIONS.

 

An individual is FULLY Vaccinated ≥  2 weeks following receipt of the second dose in a 2-dose series, or ≥ 2 weeks following receipt of one dose of a single-dose vaccine.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a coaching license or a coaching application with results from the NMAA to apply for their coaching license and a complete application on file.

ATHLETIC COACH JOB DESCRIPTION

 

JOB GOALS:
To prepare athletes for competition. Participation opportunities are offered at the Varsity, Junior Varsity, ‘C’ Team, 9th grade, 8th grade, and 7th-grade levels of competition for many of the sponsored sports. The District features a “no-cut” policy for all sub-varsity sports.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teaching sports techniques, playing rules, strategies, and playing tactics.
Conditioning athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength, and agility.
Supervising and conducting practices and contests safely; supervising locker rooms and buses.
Teaching sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic, and responsibility to one’s team.
Monitoring athletes’ school attendance, grades, and personal conduct.
Responding to player injuries with approved first aid techniques.
Managing uniforms, equipment, and school facilities in a responsible manner.

 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
Vacancies for coaching positions are developed at each school and forwarded to the Executive Director of Human Resources for posting in schools. Posted vacancies for head coaching assignments are available to qualified teachers or administrators only. Candidates for coaching positions are screened, interviewed by the high school athletic director and/or principal. To apply for a coaching job, candidates submit a letter of interest to the office of Human Resources. The athletic director will review all candidate backgrounds and recommend candidates to be interviewed.

 

SALARY:
Coaching salaries vary depending on the coaching assignment and the level of competition (Freshmen, Sophomore, JV, or Varsity). Applicants should list related playing or coaching experiences and any training completed. In addition, candidates should list the sports they feel most comfortable teaching/coaching.
