Job Description: Educational Assistant Position Title: Choir Piano Accompanist
Reports to: Principal
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional and Artistic Duties:
- Accompanies assigned choir ensembles
- Arrives prepared and on time to accompany ensemble(s) / student(s)
- Ability to assist teachers in classroom and performance settings
- Attends all sessions in location designated by Choir Director(s)
- Accompanies recitals and or concerts where applicable
- Attends extra rehearsals as needed and agreed to with Choir Director(s)
- Participates in Music Department meetings
- Participates in Deming High School and Red Mountain Middle School faculty/staff meetings, when requested to do so
- Submit leave request forms in a timely manner to the Principal
- Understands the goals, objectives, priorities and responsibilities of the Choir Program(s) /Music Department(s), and aligns instruction accordingly.
- Completes all Deming Public Schools required training in a timely manner

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- College/Music course work and prior experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Educational Assistant K-12 license and Substitute license preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, parents,and other employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
