QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must be highly qualified which requires one of the following:

 

An associate's degree or higher.

48 hours college course.

Passing the Paraprofessional test.

There must also be a complete application on file.

 

Job Goal:

Under the guidance and direction of the High Dosage Tutoring Facilitator, the Interventionist will implement targeted interventions in English Langue Arts and Math to students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Provide targeted intervention to students in a small group setting.

Maintain a four student per tutor ratio.

Track student progress over a 14 week period.

Provide minimum of 90 minutes of tutoring per week.

Provides consistent student grouping and tutor assignments.

Provides responsive support to students of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Ensure positive tutor-student relationships

Participate in meetings with the High Dosage Tutoring Facilitator

Participates in high dosage tutoring training.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

KNOWLEDGE OF:

Techniques, policies, and practices of child instruction.

Child discipline.

Emergency and safety procedures.

Policies and objectives of assigned programs.

Modern office practices and procedures.

School site and assigned, policies, and procedures.

Basic principles and techniques of education.

Correct English usage.

Operation of modern office equipment including PC and related software.

First aid and CPR.

Educational needs of students with multiple needs.

ABILITY TO:

Prepare a variety of records and reports.

Establish and maintain effective relationships with others.

Operate a variety of modern office equipment.

Communicate effectively orally and in writing.

Understand and follow oral and written directions.

Perform routine clerical duties.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED certificate.

Educational course work and prior classroom experience preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Ability to write simple correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to

students, parents, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole

numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in

written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized

situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

502 Educational Assistant K-12 license.
