Salary: Grade 24 Step 1

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicant must be highly qualified which requires one of the following:

An associate degree

48 hours of college courses

Passing the Paraprofessional test

Ability to communicate (speaking, reading, writing) in English and Spanish preferred.

JOB GOAL:

Under direction of the Federal Program’s Director, assists the Equity Social Worker in implementing an effective program, recruiting, identifying and providing services to families and children in the program. Serves as a liaison between the schools and parents of Immigrant. Provides general assistance for teachers with Immigrant students in the classroom.

         

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in providing services to students eligible for the Immigrant program and coordinates with the Equity Social Worker.
  • Assists in monitoring academic performance and provide support for students in program.
  • Assist in identifying priority for service (PFS).
  • Maintains regular communication with PFS students and their parents.
  • Networks with community and district resources to represent the programs.
  • Provides transportation to students and families as needed.
  • Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of documents and files on participating families.
  • Any other duties as directed by the and director of federal programs.
