JOB Summary: Under direction of the Director of Federal/Equity, assists the Equity Social Worker in implementing an effective program by providing services to English learners with a priority of service to students who are dually identified as EL. Serves as a liaison between the schools and parents of the English Learners. Provides general assistance for teachers with EL’s in the classroom. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in providing services to students identified as an English Learner and coordinates with the Equity Social Worker. Knowledgeable about language acquisition strategies and practices. Assists in monitoring academic performance and provide support for English learners identified as at risk. Maintains regular communication with PFS English learners and their parents. Networks with community and district resources to provide any resources the EL or their family may need. Maintains and safeguards confidentiality of documents and files on participating families. Any other duties as directed by the Equity Director.
